Ex- BBC Advisers Face MPs' Grilling After Allegations of Partiality in Leaked Memorandum

Ex- BBC consultants speaking in front of Members of Parliament

We open with queries from Tory Member of Parliament Caroline Dinenage, who oversees the group.

She initiates by offering details to the unauthorized memorandum authored by Michael Prescott and printed in a daily publication.

"It is not my wish for the BBC slanting in any particular direction, I just want it balanced, unbiased and equitable," he states.

Upon being questioned if he thinks the British Broadcasting Corporation is structurally prejudiced, the adviser replies: "No, I do not. Let's be clear, tons of stuff the BBC does is top-tier - encompassing factual and fictional shows."

However, he continues: "There is significant effort that needs to be done at the BBC."

Another ex-adviser BBC adviser interviewed by the committee, Caroline Daniel, remarks she regards the BBC extremely earnestly and that it maintains a "persistent practice and lively discussion" regarding fluid and multifaceted issues.

"Was the BBC ready to conduct a genuine conversation and exchange and take action?" she reflects. "As I see it, yes they were."
