Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Widespread Counterattacks.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing offensive against it by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any destruction is unclear and the United States has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have shot down missiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas associated with the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.

It said debris landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
