The Opening Xbox Game Pass Games of 2026 Show Xbox Is Still Fighting.
In numerous discussions, fans keep sounding the knell for the green team. Xbox was recently outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Xbox fan sites are now publishing content regarding Sony's platform as a new development. The past year represented a period of total upheaval for Xbox and Microsoft. Yet, based exclusively on the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it becomes clear that Microsoft continues to plan to attract subscribers with compelling titles on its key platform.
The Immediate Additions
The duo of games currently accessible at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass soon that's worth getting excited about.
Upcoming Headline Games
Come mid-January, the subscription service will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that refreshes the standard Ubisoft formula with a cosmic robbery tale. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, hailed in past assessments as "an ideal blend of frights and fights."
Compelling Indie Titles
However, the more modest titles arriving shortly on the service are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite offering thrilling gameplay, becomes available next week — and it merits a playthrough even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.
The game set in a ruined Britain from last year could captivate you within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the makers of Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
Ultimately, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they are also not massive exclusive blockbusters that justify the service alone. But Microsoft's additions here are rock solid. There's a good mixture of past releases that passed you by and new-ish games that didn't get the attention they deserved the first time around — rendering them excellent choices to find a new audience on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
