Toronto Blue Jays Secure Fall Classic Meeting With the Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

George Springer previously helped the Astros securing the World Series in the 2017 season.

Canada's MLB team earned a spot in their first Fall Classic after 1993 by beating the Mariners in the seventh Game 7 of the ALCS.

Trailing three runs to one, outfielder George Springer hit a three-run homer in the seventh, leading the Toronto squad in Major League Baseball to a four games to three triumph in the series. They will now face the defending champions, holders of the current crown, in the upcoming Fall Classic.

"I'm just so happy for everyone here, the city, Canada," Springer stated, a key player of the Astros team that secured the 2017 championship. "What an incredible feeling."

The veteran has now connected for twenty-three playoff homers, ranking him third on the list trailing only Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Altuve (27).

"It's hard to imagine another person anywhere that I'd prefer in that situation other than him with his post-season brilliance," said Schneider.

Seattle's team, after leading the series two games to none and three games to two, remain the only MLB franchise never to appear in a World Series.

Manager Dan Wilson commented "without a doubt that it's painful" following his club's elimination at Rogers Centre, but commended their work in the campaign.

"It's a special team. Sadly that we ended up on the losing end of the series," he remarked.

Toronto's team won the championship on both previous visits in 1992 and 1993, and will welcome the Los Angeles in the first game on Friday.
