Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
